Monique’s artwork is inspired by the beauty and joy of living on the Mornington Peninsula. She is also influenced by many of the masters’ paintings, including Van Gogh, Matisse and Cezanne. Vibrant colour, textured expressive brushwork and magical play of light and shadow are characteristic of her paintings. Subjects favoured are vibrant figurative scenes, seascape and portraiture.

Monique paints full time now in oils, acrylics and soft pastels. Since moving to the Mornington Peninsula 20 years ago she has been raising a family with her husband whilst painting, attending art workshops and teaching art classes herself. Teaching was her career prior to having children. During this time she has developed her unique style and sold prolifically at art shows and through commissioned work.

Monique recently became a tutor at the Peninsula Arts Society in Frankston and is enjoying juggling painting, raising her family and inspiring others in her art classes.
