Warren graduated in 1994 from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Melbourne University majoring in printmaking including etching, stone lithography, relief printmaking and art history.

Warren has worked as a picture framer learning archival practice when handling and displaying artworks. He then worked as a fine art paper merchant specialising in quality art papers for drawing, painting, bookbinding and printmaking. Warren went on to work at Australian Print Workshop working with local and international artists producing hand printed edition prints.

In 2007 Warren completed his Graduate Diploma in Education at Melbourne University and began teaching with the art department at Western Port Secondary College in 2008. Alongside the roles mentioned above Warren has continued his own art practise having various solo and group exhibitions with highlights being Benalla Reginal Art Gallery, Fremantle Print prize finalist, Burnie Print Prize finalist, CPM National Print Awards and Silk Cut finalist
