After many years working in the film industry, Simone found herself rediscovering her own creativity when she moved with her family to the Peninsula. She firstly became a Yoga teacher then she completed a Diploma of Visual Art, majoring and achieving high distinctions in printmaking.

She was awarded the Printmaking Encouragement Award by Chisholm and won the Heritage Hill Acquisitive prize in 2005.

Simone has gained influence from the likes of Margaret Preston to more contemporary artists like David Fraser in her printmaking. Her painting style is drawn from passion. She likes the idea of the brush dancing around the canvas. Influenced by the masters and contemporary artist alike, Simone continues on her journey of discovery. There is a meditation in creativity, like yoga, Qi gong and tai chi. A way to reconcile the Yin and Yang of life.
