Emma Whitelaw is a Melbourne based artist, primarily focused on painting. Emma studied a diploma of Arts Illustration and Graphic design. These foundations are evident in her work, as her painting style has a strong graphic element; incorporating bold rounded shapes, crisp edges, line work, and flat colour. Colour is central to her work, choosing limited colour palettes and experimenting with how different colours play against one another.

Her subject matter centres heavily around nature, and the beautiful flora and fauna that Australia has to offer.

Emma has exhibited in Mission to seafarers exhibition, and some local community based exhibitions in the bayside region. She currently sells her work online through Bluethumb; a website that promotes Australian based artists.
