Catherine Donovan

‘Melbourne Laneway Cafe’
84cm x 67cm

Being a member of several camera clubs over the years has been a rewarding experience for Catherine.  Judges’ critiques at the many club competitions were invaluable. She has won numerous awards at club level, state level (Victorian Association of Photographic Societies) and national level (Australian Photographic Society Conference). Acceptance into international Salons of Photography and, in recent years, successfully exhibiting in various local art exhibitions have also been rewarding experiences for her.

Catherine held a solo exhibition at Oakhill Gallery, Mornington in May 2015 which was well received.
Catherine and her husband travel overseas regularly and this gives her the opportunity to observe and photograph people in their natural and cultural environment.

In recent times HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography has interested Catherine and this process, which creates a somewhat surreal or “painterly” effect has been used with the photographs in this exhibition.
