Carla Tucker is an emerging artist based in East Brighton, Victoria, with a focus on Still Life Tonal Realism and also Mark Marking Landscapes.
The collaged landscapes are an exploration of rudimentary mark making from natural objects. Flowers, branches, shells & sticks, used with watercolours and inks, provide the perfect tools to evoke the patterns found in nature and that result in the landscape imagery presented. The expressiveness and movement created by the marks suggest the transience of light and wind in a landscape. The collage and mark making are a progression from her professional Textile Design background. Carla has a degree in Textile Design from RMIT and continues her tonal realism study at the Victorian Artists Society and related workshops.
